The Strand

Saturday October 3, 2015 - Visit downtown Kingston down by the waterfront with your friends. Downtown Kingstion by the waterfront is now called, "The Strand". The Strand has 12 restaurants, many shops, boat cruises, museums, walkways, etc. Reservations required. This is a free event.

This event is designed to be free-flowing. Groups of people can decide what they want to do when they are down there. There is a plan to have lunch at one of the many restaurants. There is a Trolley Museum, Maritime Museum, Lighthouse Museum. There are cruise ships for tours.

Directions to Best Western Plus from the Thruway Circle:

  • Parking Lot GPS:
  • Get on the new Thruway Circle and take Rt 587 to Kingston
  • Follow Broadway down towards the Esopus Creek (Go past Kingston Hospital & Kingston High School)
  • After Broadway turns 90 degrees to the right, take a LEFT by the Kingston Catholic School
  • If you miss the left turn to continue on Broadway, you can take Dock Street (just before Wurts Bridge)
  • Follow Broadway to the Esopus Creek
  • There are multiple parking lots (some have meters and some are free).
